Biography

The journey
no one promised

Panarin’s story is not one of talent recognised overnight. It is a story of long journeys to practice, skates that did not fit, and a player who turned every doubt into another step in his remarkable career.

01

Roots

Home ice in Korkino

Artemi was born on October 30, 1991 and raised by his grandparents. His grandfather, an amateur hockey player, introduced him to the ice. Reaching practice in Chelyabinsk meant long journeys, sometimes alone by bus.

“The journey to practice was the first part of every practice.”
02

Character

No draft, no guarantees

His size made scouts hesitate for years. Panarin went undrafted, but by 23 he had won the Gagarin Cup and signed with Chicago as a free agent.

“Undrafted never meant unnoticed.”
03

Style

Seeing the ice first

His game is built on more than quick hands. Panarin changes pace, creates open space and sees a passing lane a fraction of a second before it appears. Players beside him often produce their best seasons.

“The pass begins before the lane opens.”

The stage

Made for big moments

New York appealed to him for its lights, the history of Madison Square Garden and the responsibility that came with it. He became the engine of the Rangers’ attack, set personal and team records, then chose Los Angeles for his next chapter.

“He loves the stage. He loves big moments.”
